Resolved Question: Italians, about Italy, what is the best area to visit specifically?

What area or province ? And why ? Rome, Milan, Naples,Venice,Florence ? Please feel free to mention any area I did not mention. Also : When would it be wise or good to travel to Italy ? During the week or weekend ? What month(s) ? And what time specifically : morning, noon or night ? ( When can you get cheap flights round trip ? ) Also, what season would you recommend ? When is the weather fairly/decently warm ? What is there to do in Italy besides eat (lol, yummm) ? Lastly : Do Americans need a Visa to travel to Italy or would a passport be enough ? And if a Visa is needed, how do you go about obtaining one ? I apologize for all the questions but when a person is going to a place for the first time in their life. It must be thoroughly researched. So if for whatever reason all the questions here can not be answered, that is ok. I will post the unanswered questions another time.
